Additional Class Information   (top)

Salsa Footwork L1: No previous dance experience required. This class is meant to teach you the fundamentals of Salsa from scratch. If you have never danced before or have "two left feet," this is the class for you.

Learn the basic footwork and body movement fundamentals from our Salsa Footwork courses which will provide you with a firm base for dancing. You will benefit greatly from the foundation placed by the footwork course, to transition seamlessly into partnerwork, any time you wish.

It also helps that they are a lot of fun!

Salsa Footwork L2: A Salsa L1 Course should be completed for atleast three to four months before progressing to Salsa L2 Courses.

Improve your body movement mechanics and footwork and get a taste of several sub-genres of salsa dancing. Introduce turn mechanics into your dancing to incorporate spins and expand your movement vocabulary with this course. You will benefit from the footwork learnt in the L2 course to ease your transition into complex partnerwork concepts, any time you wish.

Of course, there is an upgrade in the fun quotient as well!

Afo Cuban Dance Course: Get an insight into the fundamentals of Afro Cuban Folkloric Dances that form the roots of salsa dancing and music. This is an open level class where you get an in-depth understanding of the technique and rhythms that are fundamental to the dance form 'Salsa'.

They are rooted in history, relatable and probably, the most FUN!

Partners: Joining with a partner is NOT compulsory, although recommended. Furor will ensure that the gender ratio in each batch proportionate.

Footwear: Only dance shoes are allowed on our studio floor (ie. jazz shoes, Salsa sandals, ballet shoes, etc.). Alternatively, we recommend that you dance in socks until you've acquired appropriate footwear. Normal footwear is not conducive to performing some of the movements that will be taught in class (not to mention that it will most likely scratch and damage our floor). Even for online classes, normal footwear is not conducive to performing some of the movements that will be taught in class.

Dress Code: We suggest wearing comfortable clothing (ie. track pants or loose-fitting denims & t-shirt). You will sweat, so consider having a small hand towel to dry yourself during class.

Additional Practice: Attending class alone is usually not enough to progress at the pace that we expect from our students. You must find additional practice time outside of class as well. Full class recordings will be provided to aid practice.

Hygiene: This is a partner dance and as a courtesy to your partners, please ensure that you control any unpleasant body odor by applying deodorant and using chewing gum or breath mints before and/or during class.

Conduct: Students are expected to conduct themselves in a pleasant and courteous manner. Each student will learn at a different pace; as such you are expected to be encouraging to your classmates and help those who may be struggling. Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

Right of Admission: Furor reserves the right of admission to any of its classes.
